Heterogeneous Catalytic Degradation of Diuron Using Algerian Sodium Montmorillonite
نویسندگان
چکیده
Diuron is categorized as a probable human carcinogen by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This work aimed to determine optimal conditions for catalytic degradation of in an aqueous solution with H2O2 using Algerian sodium Montmorillonite (Mont-Na) catalyst. The material characterized before and after experiment X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, specific surface area (SBET), elemental analysis, thermal analysis (TGA/DTA). charge determined measuring point zero charge. Tests without Mont-Na provide 32% conversion rate 8 h. However, mixture 1 g increases 91% 180 min at 25 °C pH 6.3. disappearance evidenced high-performance liquid chromatography UV–vis detector (HPLC/UV–vis). Specifically, 3,4-dichloroaniline (DCA) only by-product. At basic values 9 11, 72.5% achieved lower contact time 150 min. A change temperature toward higher results decrease rate. Overall, used successfully heterogeneous from polluted water.

متن کاملIonizing radiation induced degradation of diuron in dilute aqueous solution
BACKGROUND Cutting edge technologies based on Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP) are under development for the elimination of highly persistent organic molecules (like pesticides) from water matrices. Among them, ionizing radiation treatment represents a promising technology that requires no additives and can be easily adapted to an industrial scale. In these processes several reactive species ...
متن کاملDiuron degradation by bacteria from soil of sugarcane crops
The isolation of microorganisms from soil impacted by xenobiotic chemicals and exposing them in the laboratory to the contaminant can provide important information about their response to the contaminants. The purpose of this study was to isolate bacteria from soil with historical application of herbicides and to evaluate their potential to degrade diuron. The isolation media contained either g...
متن کاملCatalytic Determination of Traces of Tellurium (IV) Using the Reduction of Lauth’s Violet with Sodium Sulfide
A simple, rapid and sensitive method has been developed for determination of traces of tellurium (IV) (7.0-120.0 ng/ml) based on it’s catalytic effect on the reduction reaction of lauth’s violet by sulfide ion at pH 4.2. The reaction is monitored spectrophotometrically by measuring the decrease in absorbance of lauth’s viole at 600 nm by the fixed time method. The detection limit is 5.0 ng/ml a...

The heterogeneous photo-Fenton degradation of crystal violet under visible light has been investigated usingcopper modified iron oxide. The photocatalyst has been prepared by coprecipitation method. The rate ofphotocatalyic degradation of dye was monitored spectrophotometrically. It has been observed thatphotocatalytic degradation follows pseudo first order kinetics. The effect of various param...
